Taco Soup

2 pounds lean ground beef 
1 onion, chopped
3 cans (4 oz) chopped green chilies
3 cans (15 oz) stewed tomatoes
1 can (15 to 16 ounces) each, rinsed and drained: pinto beans, lima beans, kidney beans and hominy
1 package taco seasoning
1 package ranch dressing
1 1/2 cups water
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
Shredded cheddar cheese
Tortilla chips                                                      

In a large pot, brown beef and onion, drain off any fat.  Add all remaining ingredients except last two (shredded cheddar cheese and tortilla chips); bring to a boil.  Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.  Top with cheese and chips.
